Mindfulness Meditation with Chris, Wednesdays, 6:45 - 7:30. The gathering will begin with a brief teaching, writing, or poem, followed by 30 minutes of silent meditation. There will also be time for shared reflection afterward. Many sessions will be from The Mindfulness Trainings from Thich Nhat Hanh. Awareness for Life with Aruna Dhammadhira and Sister Khemanandi. We meet weekly on Saturdays from 4-6 pm. We begin with some chanting, followed by meditation (sometimes guided), walking meditation outdoors when possible, a Dhamma talk, followed by an interactive activity or discussion. Twice a month, participants may take the five training precepts for lay Buddhists if they wish. We are currently meeting both in person and on Zoom (hybrid). Mindfulness in the Garden with Sister Khemanandi We will meet on Sunday mornings beginning June 5, from 8:30-10 am starting with a short reading followed by individual practice in the garden setting at Deer Park. This is an in-person only meeting.
Eco-Dharma We will explore how the Dhamma sheds light on our current ecological crisis and helps us to find an appropriate response. Combining her background in Buddhist studies with her training in permaculture, Aruna will introduce contemplative practices that will aid us in meeting grief, despair, anger and other difficult emotions in a way that leads to clarity and resilience. Classes scheduled for May have been postpone to a later date. We will keep you up to date!
